New Seattle Landlord Requirements - Coming Soon!

New Seattle Landlord requirements taking effect
January 1, 2017

Here's what you need to know to get ready!

As a Landlord, or Investor looking to purchase a rental property in Seattle, there are new regulations under Seattle's Source of Income Protection Ordinance that you will need to be aware of. You may have read about the "first-n-time" rule that takes effect Jan. 1, 2017.

We spoke to a representative in Councilmember Herbold's office and they informed us that all rules have not been finalized. THERE'S STILL TIME TO VOICE YOUR COMMENTS OR CONCERNS! Two meetings are set over the next two weeks:

November 17th at 7pm - Bitter Lake Community Center

November 22nd from 11am to 1pm - Seattle City Hall, Council Chamber

The Rental Registration & Inspection Ordinance (RRIO) has a date worth noting. This ordinance requires all Landlords to register rental units. The registration due date for 1-4 units is December 31st, 2016. Registration is required for all rental dwellings in Seattle from single-family to large apartment complexes.
